The Playstation Portal, Sony’s latest entry into the handheld gaming market, brings a familiar challenge for the company. While the device has received mixed reviews, I believe it’s worth considering only if you have a consistent and strong internet connection at home. The Portal depends entirely on your PS5 having a stable connection, as it uses Remote Play to stream games directly from either a local Playstation console or directly from the cloud.. Battery life is fairly modest—lasting about 3 hours per charge—which may be underwhelming for longer sessions, but is reasonable for a device that essentially lets you play your PS5 library on the go. If you subscribe to PlayStation Plus and have access to cloud streaming, you can also take advantage of that feature, expanding the Portal’s library further. The Portal has had a small 2 million in sales vs the Switch Overall 16 million sales. The Portal is best for dedicated PlayStation fans looking for flexibility and remote access to their console, as long as your network can keep up.
